My pet peeve.
The gay community is so self destructive. I’m currently listening to the interview with Todd Glass where he comes out… publicly, I guess (listen to it, though his experience is different than mine, his process internally and the way he feels about things are really similar to me… including his method of trying to turn straight while he’s having some time to himself. Haha[listen to the interview to understand]). This led me to read an article in the advocate and the comments are so rude! The advocate quotes him inappropriately as well, while he’s talking about how he wasn’t comfortable being labeled “gay” which makes him sound like someone who is against being called gay.
Leave it to the comments on the article to be super bitchy. People talking about how him not being comfortable being called gay is just as bad as people being homophobic. And how it’s he’s being praised for coming out after he made a name for himself, but it’s harder for us who haven’t etc etc.
Coming out is hard. Period. And being gay is hard. Period. And he’s venting. Give him a break.
Why do we need to devour each other, point out every mistake, I don’t know. He’s learning, like we all are. Our views change, everything changes. No need to jump down the throat of somone who is learning.
This is discombobulated, but yeah.
Stop jumping on people for not knowing the terms, for not thinking like you do.
